DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.To conceive ideas and concepts for packaging designs;

ii.To assist in turning packaging ideas into designs using CAD/CAE software;

iii.To assist in designing, creating and producing packaging designs;

iv.To provide professional recommendations for concept, design and production of packages;

v.To maintain equipment, supply inventory and accurate files and records;

vi.To analyze requirements for packaging designs;

vii.To read engineering plans and develop blueprints and drawings that can be used in packages manufacturing;

viii.To assist in creating drawings, designs and other digital representations of packages;

ix.To work closely with other design professionals in order to fully understand and interpret designs;

x.To train manufacturers on packaging technology and best practice; and

xi.To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Head of Section.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Fine Art, Graphic Design, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.  Basic knowledge in packaging materials such paper & pulp, metal, glass, plastic & plastic films and composite will be an added advantage.

The Graphics Designer is responsible for creating visually engaging designs that effectively communicate the brand’s message and enhance user experience across various platforms. This role involves collaborating with marketing, product, and development teams to produce high-quality graphics for both digital and print media. The Graphics Designer will utilize creative skills and technical expertise to develop branding materials, promotional content, and user interface elements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce compelling graphics for marketing campaigns, social media, websites, and print materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Create visually appealing layouts, infographics, and illustrations that align with brand guidelines.
  • Edit and retouch images to enhance visual quality and consistency.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure innovative and relevant design solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver final design files for production, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.

This position plays a vital role in shaping the visual identity of the organization and ensuring that all design outputs resonate with the target audience while effectively conveying the brand message.
