Position Overview
We are seeking Merchant Onboarding Interns who will play a pivotal role in assisting Tanzanian merchants with limited English proficiency and minimal technical exposure. Your primary responsibility will be to guide merchants through the onboarding process, connecting their Ghala accounts with Meta’s platforms, and providing ongoing support to ensure a smooth and successful integration. While Meta can be easily trained, the focus of this role is to master the Ghala integration and effectively communicate its benefits and functionalities to our merchants.
Key Responsibilities
Merchant Onboarding: Walk merchants through the onboarding process for Ghala and its integration with Meta platforms (e.g., Facebook, WhatsApp).
Assist in connecting their Ghala accounts with Meta via the developer portal.
Provide step-by-step guidance to ensure merchants can start selling effectively on Meta platforms through Ghala.
Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Ghala integrations with Meta.
Liaise with the technical team to escalate and address complex technical problems.
Create and maintain documentation for common technical issues and solutions specific to Ghala and Meta integrations.
Merchant Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with merchants who have limited English and tech experience.
Address merchants’ hesitations and provide clarifications about Ghala and its integration with Meta.
Use simple language, visual aids, and analogies to explain complex concepts related to Ghala and Meta.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants to ensure long-term satisfaction and success.
Follow up with merchants post-onboarding to provide additional support and gather feedback.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest features and updates of Ghala and Meta platforms.
Participate in training sessions to enhance technical and communication skills, with a focus on Ghala integration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills:
Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Swahili is a plus.
Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding and respect for Tanzanian culture and business practices.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently.
Patience and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to handle frustrated or hesitant merchants with patience and empathy.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust communication styles based on merchants’ needs and feedback.
Technical Aptitude:
Basic understanding of social media platforms, particularly Meta’s suite (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp).
Willingness to learn the technical processes related to Ghala integrations.
