Position Overview
We’re on the lookout for two skilled and creative Graphic Designers to join our Digital Democracy Hub. This is more than just a design role—you’ll be a visual storyteller helping to shape how citizens connect with information, express themselves, and engage with governance issues.
You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team from other departments to craft eye-catching, informative, and impactful visual content that resonates with diverse
audiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Design a wide range of digital and print materials including infographics,
reports, social media content, posters, animations, presentations, and publications.
• Translate complex ideas (e.g. policy, governance, civic education) into clear and visually engaging designs.
• Collaborate with content managers and creators (digital advocacy) teams, and program officers to ensure visual consistency across campaigns.
• Ensure all designs reflect JamiiAfrica’s visual identity, mission, and values.
• Support the development of brand guidelines and templates for internal and external use.
• Stay updated with design trends, tools, and techniques, particularly within the civic and digital democracy space.
• Maintain an organized archive of design files and ensure timely delivery of creative assets.
Qualifications and Experience
• At least 3 years of experience in graphic design, preferably within NGOs, social enterprises, or advocacy-related work.
• Graphics Designer related Certificate or reference
• Familiarity with modern design software and technologies (Creative Suites and other graphic designing software)
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively (team player) in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of digital media, social platforms, and the role of visual content in citizen engagement.
• Bonus: Skills in motion graphics, animation, or video editing.
